Overnights of Hospitality
Since 2001, in partnership with the Salvation Army, the Council’s member churches have provided over 12,000 overnights of hospitality for homeless individuals , offering them a safe and warm place to sleep in participating sanctuaries.
Case Management Services
In 2003 the Council began offering case management services which provide Overnight participants assistance addressing needs, accessing services and obtaining more permanent housing.
Did you know...
- Since November 2004, over 120 Overnights guests have moved from homelessness to more permanent housing!
- Last year case managers for the Overnights of Hospitality worked with over 75 clients
- Overnights case managers average 250 client related contacts a month
- 45 faith congregations across Cape Cod, from Falmouth to Orleans, take part in the program
- On July 1, 2010 BridgePort, and apartment building with 8 studio apartments, will celebrate its 5th anniversary. 8 former Overnights guests live there.
- Thanks to the success of case management, the woman’s program occasionally goes into a brief hiatus as the clients have moved into housing!
